Hypnosis New Zealand proudly collaborates with Clinical Hypnosis Australia to align membership requirements and professional standards across both organisations.
Our Registered HNZ membership criteria are based on the guidelines established by recognised private health bodies, ensuring that members meet high levels of training, supervision and ethical practice. This partnership helps to create more universal standards within the hypnotherapy profession, supporting excellence in clinical practice and safeguarding the wellbeing of the public.
Free
HNZ Basic Membership
This membership is open to anyone seeking support and learning through the private HNZ members area.
This membership will give you free access to our guest zooms and webinars.
You will also receive invitations to upcoming events.
Paid
HNZ Professional Membership
This membership is best for students, and part time hypnotherapists that don't require a registration number for private health bodies.
This requires to be working towards or hold a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy. See approved schools.
The training must be live or live-online supervised training.
Must agree to the HNZ Code of ethics and a police check will be done on application.
This membership includes:
Access to membership area with videos
A listing in the Holistic Directory
A Professional Member Certificate (PDF)
Monthly Practicing Support Group online sessions (supervision)
Event invitations and discounts
The use of the HNZ logo on your website.
The yearly membership renewal fee is $150 nzd per year

HNZ Board certified Membership
This membership is available to qualified hypnotherapists who have been actively working in the field for a minimum of three years. A minimum of one year at HNZ professional level to apply.
Applicants hold a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy with at least 1,000 hrs of combined training*
To maintain registration, members are required to provide:
Evidence of education and qualifications
A current First Aid certificate
A recent Police Check (done by HNZ)
Proof of professional insurance
Ongoing registration also requires:
20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours per year
12 supervision sessions per year
Adherence to the HNZ Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
This membership includes:

A listing in the Holistic Directory
An HNZ Board Certified Member Certificate with number (PDF) (hardcopy available on request)
Twice Monthly Practicing Support Group online sessions (supervision)
Event invitations and discounts
The holistic toolbox - AI advertising tool for hypnotherapists.
The yearly membership renewal fee is $190 nzd per year
The use of the logo on website.

Registered with Hypnosis New Zealand - There is no formal hypnotherapy registration in NZ as it is unregulated
